At our school we Learn, Create and Share in different ways. We follow the Manaiakalani principles of Visible, Rewindable, Innovative, Collaborative learning. Children from various classes in the junior school looked at different advertisements and chose the 100% Pure NZ advertisement as a base for our film festival movie. We have put together clips we filmed using the gimbal to create a little movie to show you how we incorporate these principles into our learning everyday, throughout the day.
Welcome to the NE/ Yr1 class of 2021. We look forward to sharing our learning and discoveries with you.

Hiwi the Kiwi fish responsibly show.
This week we had special visitors int he school. Mr and Mrs Minstrel came to entertain us and teach us about fishing. We all learnt the importance of wearing a life jacket on a boat, that we cannot take fish that are too small or too big and to always use a wet towel when touching a fish so their scales don't fall off. The learners especially enjoyed the funny songs and dance moves.

Flying Fives- Outside Play
This week in Flying fives we did outside play. Learners could choose from various activities and had multiple opportunities to socialise, use and extend their vocabulary and negotiate with their friends.
These learners are hard at work at the constructing table. They hammered in nails and built a bridge and a house.
Here are a few boys digging a 'tunnel' into the flying fives room.
It was also a lovely day to do some water play. Sila decided to make some mud cakes to feed everyone that was working hard on the tunnel.
