Pukapuka Week

 

This week is book week at school. We got to borrow all the brand new books from the school library. The bear in the window is about finding bears in lockdown. We also got to borrow lots of Pamela Anderson books. 

Duffy Books

This week we visited our school library to choose our duffy books. We also had some time to sit in the whare and read our favourite books with each other.

 

This week we were learning how to be make friends and how to share. We read the story the Rainbow Fish. We had lots of fun colouring and painting our under the sea class display. 

Role Model Assembly Robert Rakete

Our Role Model was Robert Rakete.

Robert Rakete is a busy dad with a blended family of 5 children.
His wife Nikki is a teacher and they both know how important books are in a home.
Rob has been a breakfast show host on the radio in Auckland for nearly 24 years,
as part of the team that started MAI FM before moving to The Breeze.
He is also an occasional Wiggle - The Brown Wiggle - and has appeared with them on CD,
stage, and TV.

Robert was also in Dancing with the Stars. We have been really lucky to have him come to our school to
talk to us about the importance of Reading and how it has helped him.

Grumpy Bear art and stories

Our shared book this week was Grumpy Bear. We decided to make our own bears but could change the personality. The learners loved talking about their feeling and different personality types.

Yesterday me and my class went to our school library. When we were there we went inside and sit on the floor then Mrs  Mclean said " The people who didn’t bring there library books you can not get a book but you can look at some books. " So then I looked at some books. Later it was time to pick. I didn’t get to pick because I first need to bring my book back. I just sit in the line and wait then we went back to class. Paul

Nothing Ever Happens

Today I was  reading this book and it’s called Nothing Ever Happens.
First we had to go on on EE and we had to take a photo of the last pag of the book and we had to write characters , the setting , time ,and problem.
In the chapter there was Mum Dad Hurry and Gran.
The setting is at backyard outside and garden
The time was at normal time.
And the last one was the problem and the problem was that there were aliens wants a cup of sugar.
