We found simple machines in the classroom.  We are learning to remember the names of the simple machines that we found. 

 

Safety Management

 This term our inquiry is all about safety. We have been learning how to keep ourselves safe at home and at school. We have also been learning about people that help keep us safe. Today we had the ambulance at our school to help one of the students who had been hurt. The paramedics put on their lights and siren for us. 

Cook Island Language Week

 

Room 1 enjoyed working with Room 2 in celebrating Cook Island language week.  They made beautiful headbands and learnt a cook island dance. 

Hiwi the Kiwi fish responsibly show.

This week we had special visitors int he school. Mr and Mrs Minstrel came to entertain us and teach us about fishing. We all learnt the importance of wearing a life jacket on a boat, that we cannot take fish that are too small or too big and to always use a wet towel when touching  a fish so their scales don't fall off.  The learners especially enjoyed the funny songs and dance moves.

Different Bridges

.Today room 1 did a truss bridge,beam bridge,suspension bridge and arch bridge. We had to make it on our iPad and we had to make it. Then we record one thing about it so I did if we don’t know about some bridges you had to go on kiddle. Akifa

This is a bridge.  This bridge is a lego bridge but it’s not a bridge you could drive on, its a bridge you could float under. by KB

Today we made bridges and the things we needed was cups and cardboards and a hot glue gun. Later my group helped me to put it all together. Daevon Haiu

At school, Mrs Millward showed us how to make bird feeders using things from around the house. I made my own bird feeder at home. I used what I learnt at school, at home. Marcaiyla
