Confidence

I can't wait to share my learning with others or to speak at assembly. I want to show my confidence.

Softball

It was awesome at softball. We won some games and lost some. The best game was the year 7/8 game against St Patricks at the end. We won that game by 1 run.

Relating to others

I am learning how to relate to others at school. My goal is to help others and be an example to the juniors.

Reading History

At Library we did our reading history. Some of us had the same books that we liked when we were younger. It was good to see how different people liked different things and how some people liked the same things.

Boolean search

We have been learning how to search more effectively. This includes scanning for information, saying it on our own words and referencing. It is really important to type correctly into the search engine to get the best results. BY : Pote and Halaiano

Name Art

We made name art to use around or class treaty.

We wrote our name and then had to use reflection to write it again.

WE also counted the number of letters to work out what fraction of our name is vowels and the fraction that are consonants.

Swimming

We have the swimming pool at school this term. Here we are helping each other learn the Basic strokes and the correct way to turn our head to breathe.

Maths Games

We enjoy our math warm up sessions. We are learning to instantly recall our basic facts to 10 and 100.

Theme and Rheme

Each person in our group got a sentence from a paragraph.

We had to work together to put the sentences in the correct place to form a paragraph.

Some groups had to read their paragraph a few times to make sure it flowed and was in a sequence.

                           We read our paragraphs to the class to check whether it was correct.

We sometimes had to make changes with the help of the class.

In the end we used theme and rheme to ensure the text flowed and made sense.

First day of Tech at Tamaki College

The first day of tech was really exciting. The Year 7 learners went to graphics with Mr Pinede and the Year 8 learners made fruit salad. Tech at Tamaki College is going to be loads of fun!

Relating to others- KiwiCAN

We are back at KiwiCan with Ms Letoya and Mr M. This week we were learning how to speak to others, to be encouraging and use a good tone. It was fun acting out different scenarios in the class.

Class Treaty

As a class we determined that this would be our class treaty. It encompasses and falls under the overarching Panmure Bridge School Values of CARE and the Key Competencies. We understand that it might not always be easy but if we work together anything is possible. We realise that we don't have to be the best to try our best.

Reading Buddies

This is our Buddy reader class for 2015. We look forward to reading with the year ones in Room 3. Mrs Hiddleston will also tell us how she would like us to help her learners with their digital learning on their iPads. Room 6 has also made reading logs to help keep track and encourage our young buddies with their learning.It is going to be great learning, creating and sharing!
