In class we made a healthy food wrap. We used cheese, lettuce and carrots. Everyone used half of the wrap first. We spoke about halves and quarters. Aden

I am learning about symmetry. One side must look the same like the other side. Diana

We were looking at different shapes in the classroom, at school and in our lunch boxes. I can talk about the different shapes and what they look like.

I am learning to say the answers for my basic facts as quickly as possible. Fau

May
This week we created a Mothers Day Body Garden. We measured our flowers using different body parts. We learnt that to measure correctly we must measure from end to end or tip to tip. Some people had really tall stems. It was tall because they have long arms or they measured from their fingers to the shoulder and others measured from their elbow to their fingers. We also had to look at the garden when it was finished and say our maths observations. Holly

 March
We are learning to share our strategies when solving a problem. Some people counted, some people drew pictures and some people use +. It was really scary explaining what we did first but then it was easy. Angelica

February
This week we have been talking about our different cultures and that we all live in New Zealand. We made a pattern using symbols from our cultures and a koru to represent New Zealand.

This week we have been learning about numbers. We have been doing this as part of our calendar work in the morning. We have also been learning how to set out our work and form our numbers and letters correctly when we write. Here are some photos of us in action.
